Ensuring Integrity in Every Vote
Electoral & Boundaries Commission
Dedicated to upholding the principles of democracy through transparent and equitable electoral processes.
Intended For Removal of Voting Status
Why the list is published
The Electoral and Boundaries Commission is required to keep the voter register accurate and up to date. Some people on the register may have moved overseas for many years or may have passed away, which means they are no longer eligible to vote.
Publishing this list allows the public to:
-
see who is proposed for removal,
-
and provide corrections before any changes are made.
Legal Basis
Under the Representation of the People Act, Cap. 12, a person may be removed from the Register of Electors if:
-
they have died,
-
an objection to their registration has been upheld,
-
they have been outside of Barbados for more than 5 years (and are not a foreign service elector), or
-
they have become disqualified under this or any other law.
Because the law requires the Register to remain accurate, the Electoral and Boundaries Commission must identify and remove persons who fall into these categories.
